Plastic Reduction

Recently, Coca-Cola, Pepsi Cola and Keurig Dr Pepper three companies have joined together under a new plan led by the American Beverage Association (ABA) to reduce plastic waste in plastic bottles.

The program, entitled "Every Bottle Back", is supported by WWF, recycling partners and recycling partners, and is also known as a "breakthrough effort" to reduce the use of new plastics in the beverage industry.

These beverage companies have joined together to support the recycling plastics economy, emphasizing the value of 100% recyclable plastic bottles and caps to consumers, and ensuring that they will not become waste in marine, river or landfill sites.

As part of the plan, a sum of US $100 million will be used to improve the classification, processing and collection of the largest part of the US infrastructure gap. The fund will be managed by recycling partners and recycling partners, and will attract additional $300 million in grants and investments.

In addition, public awareness campaigns will be launched to help consumers understand the value of recyclable bottles. ABA also plans to use the World Wide Fund's accounting methodology to measure progress in reducing the use of new plastics. Finally, the beverage company will start volunteering information on the packaging next year to remind consumers that these bottles are 100% recyclable.

"Our industry is aware of the serious demand for new plastics in the environment, and we want to do our part to lead the industry with innovative solutions," said ABA president and chief executive officer Katherine Lugar. Our bottle is redesigned, which is why this project is so important. We are very pleased to work with leading environmental protection and recycling organizations to create a recycling system for the production, use, recycling and recycling of our bottles.

"Every Bottle Back will ensure that our plastic bottles are recycled after use and re made into new bottles, so that we can reduce the number of new plastics used to push our beverages to market. This is an important step for our industry. It is based on our commitment to protect our environment for future generations. "

Jim Dinkins, President of Coca-Cola North America, added: "we are proud to work with our competitors to solve the serious problem of plastic waste in our environment. We know that we can not do this alone. In order to achieve our goals and industry goals, we need to work together to promote collective action and ensure that our bottles have second, third and fourth lives through continuous recycling and reuse.

It is worth noting that a recent audit of global plastic waste concluded that Coca-Cola is the largest source of plastic pollution.

The audit conducted by the Break Free From Plastic includes 84 clean-up activities from 50 countries and 6 continents. A total of 72000 volunteers combed plastic waste in beaches, city streets, waterways and nearby areas.
