According to China Customs statistics, in 2018, China exported 276 billion 730 million US dollars of textiles and clothing, of which US $45 billion 800 million was exported to the United States, accounting for about 16.6% of China's total exports of textiles and clothing, which was basically the same as that of 16.5% in 2017.

As for the textile and clothing products that are exported to US dollars, the number of taxes that actually occupy a larger export share is concentrated in the sixtieth chapter -64.

And since 2018, the United States has adjusted 4 import tariffs on some commodities to the United States, but it involves the sixtieth chapter, the tax number of chapter -64. According to customs statistics, the number of tax related commodities exported in 2018 accounts for only 3.25% of China's overall textile and clothing exports.

Market analysis, the United States has great demand for clothing, but at present China can effectively and timely supply, the largest share of the 60-64 chapter products will not mention tax increase schedule.

However, there will be a tariff in the current market for the remaining 325 billion US dollars exported to the United States, or all textile and clothing export categories.

The tariff increase of textile and garment should be considered in the medium term and long term. In the medium term, the tariff increase really has a bad effect on the garment industry, but the export of textile raw materials is medium or moderately good.

The main reason is that the United States has been shrinking from the dominance of clothing imported from China to increasing demand for clothing in Southeast Asia and other countries. Although Southeast Asia has a relatively low labor and part of its resource advantages, it lacks the advantages of polyester, viscose, nylon, acrylic and some other chemical fiber industry chains.

But in the long run, in order to reduce import dependence, Southeast Asian countries will develop local chemical fibers and chemical fiber yarns, such as the development of viscose staple fiber industry in Indonesia, and Vietnam's accession to the CPTPP. Under the rules of origin, Vietnam will speed up the industrial chain, and there will be some pressure on chemical fiber and chemical fiber yarn and chemical fiber cloth from the long-term favorable balance of trade.
