Canadian International Trade Minister Cristea Vreeland announced in Ottawa on 25 July that the Canadian government will sign the p Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) on February 4th in Oakland, New Zealand.

According to Xinhua reported on January 26th, he also said that the signing of the agreement by 12 countries does not mean that Canada finally ratified the agreement.

Since the signing of agreements is only a technical step, the agreement must be considered and passed by the Canadian Parliament before it can take effect.

"It's too early to talk about supporting or declining TPP," he said.

For this agreement, the voice of approval and opposition exists simultaneously.

"Many Canadians feel that this agreement has brought significant business opportunities, but at the same time, there are also concerns."

The country has two years to consider whether to ratify the agreement.

After more than 5 years of negotiations, 12 countries, including the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Vietnam and Malaysia, reached agreement on the TPP agreement in October last year.

The agreement covers 40% of the world's economic output. The agreement covers 30 chapters: investment, services, e-commerce, government procurement, intellectual property rights, state owned enterprises, labor and environment.
