Turkey Textile And Footwear Products Labeling Regulations Updated

This update is mainly aimed at the label requirements of textile products which may contain animal materials such as pearls, leather, leather necks or lace, feather ornaments or bone accessories.
Among them, the new regulation thirteenth stipulates that if any textile product contains animal material, it should be clearly marked on the product label, for example, "include"

The new regulation thirteenth (Article 13) applies to products put on the market after January 1, 2016.
The renewal of other regulations will take effect after the promulgation of regulations.
In addition, the regulation also includes market control and supervision of products, and will be implemented by the government in accordance with the market supervision and control regulations issued by the customs and trade service department in the official communiqu on June 12, 2014.
If the supplier's product does not meet the relevant requirements, it will be given a correction date.
If the product is still not qualified after the correction date, the administrative penalty will be imposed.
According to the regulations, all footwear products covered should be labelled, and the main elements of the shoe and the following components shall be shown in graphic symbols or text descriptions.

In addition, the regulation also includes market control and supervision of products, and will be implemented by the government in accordance with the market surveillance and control regulations issued by the customs and trade service department in the official communiqu on June 12, 2014.

The supplier shall be responsible for providing correct labels for shoes.
If the supplier fails to perform, the same applies to the wholesaler.
This law will take effect after publication.
