VF Group Releases The First Sustainable Responsibility Report To Establish Three Core

One of the manufacturers, --VF group, has released its first comprehensive sustainable development responsibility report.
In this report, VF highlighted the outstanding achievements made by the group and its many brands including The North Face and timberland in terms of sustainable development, and elaborated on three key areas: environment, products and human actions, strategies and objectives.

It is a core business platform that helps to promote our global business growth and help us manage our operations responsibly, "said Eric Wiseman, chairman, chief executive officer of VF.
"Our brand must be constantly innovating on the basis of sustainable development -- from product design, how we choose and manage resources and materials, or support our employees and our business communities."

VF first disclosed its innovative chemical management project, CHEM-IQ, which was developed by VF in collaboration with third party experts, including the US Natural Resources Defense Council.
CHEM-IQ provides a positive, cost-effective and scalable way to identify and eliminate potentially harmful chemicals before entering the production process.
VF also pointed out in the report that they adopted a Higg Index, a tool that helps companies assess their sustainability in clothing and footwear products.
At present, VF is using this index in various branches around the world to drive their products, brands and facilities to continue to improve.
In addition, the main points mentioned in the report include:
Reducing energy use: 5% reduction in carbon emissions in 2015. At present, 31 facilities in the group are undergoing energy pformation.
Development of sustainable products: VF group has launched more than 1500 environmentally friendly products, promoting sales increased by 10%; and promised 2015 organic cotton usage will reach 3% of annual cotton usage;
Support for community development: in 2013, there were more than 14000 VF community volunteers participating in public welfare activities, and VF contributed more than 10 million dollars worldwide.
