Recently, Australia Melbourne clothing technology Brand Company Threadsmiths uses the newly invented fabric to make a pioneering T-shirt called The Cavalier. No matter how people try to wet it, this T-shirt can keep good waterproof performance.

The White Knight T-shirt is made of 100% cotton. Though seemingly unattractive, the fabric is woven with "hydrophobic" nanotechnology, making this T-shirt effective in preventing most liquids and stains from soaking in. This T-shirt can be cleaned by machine, and its waterproof function can withstand 80 times of washing. Its fabric has natural self purification function. Any stains attached to it can be scrubbed or washed with water. This brand is currently only produced. T-shirt Pitchford, the head of the Threadsmiths brand, said most people were surprised when they saw the T-shirt. He hoped people would make suggestions on what clothes to make.

At present, this new technology Patent has been registered. Unlike other waterproofing applications containing chemicals, Threadsmiths claims: "our T-shirt is modeled on the natural hydrophobic characteristics of lotus leaves." It is speculated that the invention of this fabric could have a revolutionary impact on restaurants and cafes, where liquid spilling on tablecloths or aprons happens almost every day. In addition, the fabric can also be used in medical industry or hospital.
