In recent years, a large number of Counterfeit goods Entry into Europe has forced the EU to crack down on counterfeit goods and enter into a new anti counterfeiting Ordinance this year. At the same time, the EU will also amend the Trademark Law of Europe to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights.


Earlier, a European Union report said that counterfeit goods from 2/3 in the European market came from China.

In order to combat counterfeit goods, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union promulgated the 608/2013 (EU) anti counterfeiting article in 2013, which has been effective since January 1, 2014. Compared with the previous laws, the existing regulations simplify the procedures for the destruction of counterfeit goods seized by the customs, and no longer require the court to identify the goods in advance. In addition, in order to fill some loopholes that still exist after the entry into force of the new regulations, the EU will gradually revise the Trademark Law of Europe. 95% of the counterfeit goods seized by the EU customs in 2012 were suspected of violating the trademark law.


According to the earlier report of Der Spiegel, the German media, from cigarettes to Drugs Nearly 2/3 of counterfeit goods in Europe are produced in China, and Bulgaria and Turkey export ranks the highest in terms of counterfeit goods.


The 2013 annual report of the European Commission on intellectual property protection shows that China's exports of counterfeit and shoddy products rank the leading position, while 64% of the products being intercepted by customs are produced in China, down from 77% in 2012, and the total value of counterfeit and shoddy products is nearly one billion euros.


According to the report, 70% of illegal entry products were seized while checking the mail, of which 23% were counterfeit drugs. The largest proportion of counterfeit cigarettes is 31%. Apart from China, Hongkong, Bulgaria and Turkey follow closely behind the export of counterfeit goods. The EU report also claimed that copyright or trademark rights of nearly 40 million of the total value were infringed last year, 144 million.
