The export of footwear products in China mainly includes four categories: leather shoes, plastic shoes, textile surface shoes and other footwear.

In the first half of this year, China's leather shoes exported 560 million pairs, down 15.8%, valued at 4 billion 480 million US dollars, down 0.2%.

Over the same period, rubber and plastic shoes and textile materials exported 2 billion 260 million pairs of shoes and 680 million pairs of pairs, respectively, down by 13.6% and 6.8% respectively, valued at 5 billion 200 million US dollars and 1 billion 860 million US dollars, respectively, by 11.6% and 10.2% respectively.

The above 3 categories of products account for 85.7% of the total value of China's footwear exports in the same period.

Figure 1-11 shows the proportion of China's footwear export structure in 2007: leather shoes, leather shoes are rubber, plastic, leather or recycled leather sole, leather upper shoe boots.

The corresponding customs codes are 6403 and 640510.

In the export of footwear products in China, the share of leather shoes exports is the largest. According to customs statistics, from 1994-2007 years, the export share of leather shoes is basically maintained at around 40%.

In 2007, under the influence of EU anti-dumping policy, 1 billion 290 million pairs of leather shoes exported from China decreased by 6.5% compared with the same period last year, while the export amount was 9 billion 430 million US dollars, an increase of 8.5% over the same period last year, accounting for 39.1% of China's footwear export share.

In the world footwear market, China's leather shoes are mainly middle and low grade. The market share of leather shoes in middle and low grade reaches 85%. In 2007, the average export price was 7.33 US dollars / double, an increase of 0.99 US dollars / double in 2006 compared with that in 2006.

Our main export markets for leather shoes are the United States, the European Union, Japan, Russia and other places, and the export trade is dominated by general trade and processing trade.

At present, China's leather shoes industry has shown the industrial cluster development status. The production of leather shoes is mainly concentrated in the four shoe making bases, that is, the Guangdong production base, which is the center of Guangzhou and Dongguan, mainly producing middle and high grade shoes; the Zhejiang production base consisting of Wenzhou, Wenling, Ruian and other regions, mainly producing medium and low grade shoes; the Sichuan production base with Chengdu and Chongqing as the center, mainly producing women's shoes; and the production center with the center of the Sichuan, Shi Shi and Ji area.

Recently, the leather shoes industry has a tendency to pfer production capacity from the southeast coast to the West.

Plastic shoes and plastic shoes mainly include two kinds of waterproof plastic shoes and other plastic shoes.

Waterproof plastic shoes refer to waterproof footwear made of rubber or plastic sole and upper. The upper is not fixed on sole by seams, riveting, nails, swirling, plugging or similar methods; other plastic shoes refer to other boots made of rubber or plastic sole and shoe upper.

The corresponding customs codes are 6401 and 6402.

The proportion of plastic shoes exports is also very large, and there is a small increase every year. In 1994, the proportion of plastic shoes exports accounted for 30.6%, reaching 34.9% in 1996, while the number of plastic shoes exported in 2007 was 4 billion 670 million pairs, an increase of 7.2% over the same period last year, and the export amount was 9 billion 440 million US dollars, an increase of 16.8% over the same period last year, accounting for 39.1% of the export volume of footwear, and the average export price was 2.02 dollars / double, compared with the growth rate of 9% over the same period.

The main export markets for plastic shoes in China are the United States, the European Union, Hongkong, Canada and Japan. The main export modes are general trade and processing trade.

With the rapid development of China's economy and the deepening of reform, the plastic shoe industry has evolved from a large, medium sized city with large state-owned enterprises and large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises, and large and medium-sized cities throughout the provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and some large county towns.

In recent years, in Zhejiang, Wenzhou, Ruian, Fujian, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Guangdong, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Shandong Peninsula and Shandong, as well as in the area of "Qi" and "Qi" and so on, gradually formed a regional cluster industrial chain of plastic shoes industry. Its annual output and export volume of plastic shoes account for more than 80% of the national total.

Textile surface shoes, textile surface shoes refers to rubber, plastic, leather or regenerated leather outsole, shoes made of textile materials, and the corresponding customs codes are 6404 and 640520, mainly including sports shoes, ball games, gymnastics, training shoes and slippers, indoor shoes and other textile surface shoes.

According to our customs statistics, the export share of textile face shoes has been maintained at around 14% in recent years. In 2007, 1 billion 460 million pairs of textile surface shoes exported from China increased by 12.1% over the same period last year, and the export volume was 3 billion 470 million dollars, up 20.8% from the same period last year, accounting for 14.4% of the footwear export volume. The average unit price was 2.38 yuan / double, an increase of 7.7% over the same period last year.

The main export markets of China's textile surface shoes are the United States, the European Union, Hongkong, Canada, Japan and other places, and the export trade mode is dominated by general trade exports.

The production of China's textile surface shoes is mainly concentrated in coastal areas such as Guangdong, Fujian, Shandong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu. In recent years, production areas have gradually developed from coastal areas to the mainland, and basically formed coastal dominated areas, and Shandong, Jiangsu, Beijing, Tianjin and all parts of the country are distributed.
