In order to prevent the introduction of infectious diseases and epidemics, the Zhanjiang inspection and Quarantine Bureau has carried out hygienic disposal of the containers carrying foreign cotton according to the relevant regulations of the state.

According to reports, the amount of cotton imported from Zhanjiang port ranks the top three in Guangdong province.

Since the beginning of this year, the Bureau has not only found rats in foreign cotton, but also detected many kinds of pests such as saw Valley pirates, red grain beetles and beetles.

Recently, the Zhanjiang inspection and quarantine department also found a lot of quality problems such as foreign fibers and hazardous materials from a batch of imported cotton.

A total of 1084 packages of cotton and 187 tons of weight were found in the batch. During the inspection, there were large quantities of foreign fibers, including grass, silk, rags, hairs and so on.

After testing, the average foreign fiber content of the batch was 36.90 g / ton, the content of foreign fiber was high, and the impurity content of cotton was 8%.
