India Handloom Machine Industry Gets Loan Exemption

The India government is actively checking hands.

Sector is facing the problem of hiring 4 million 300 thousand weavers in this industry.

Recently, the Department of Handlooms has felt the pressure of high yarn prices and fierce competition from power looms and spinning mills.


Besides, it will not be easy for the Department to make loans in the future.

Most of the weaving work in the hand-held textile industry is in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, northeast and south, most of which belong to ethnic minorities and women.

Therefore, attention must be given to this sector from the standpoint of "inclusive growth" agenda.


Handwoven textile weaving workers will receive loan waivers.

In the 2011-2012 budget, the government announced a loan waiver of 30 billion rupees. 15000 Handlooms loom cooperative and 300 thousand hand loom weavers are expected to benefit. Due to financial difficulties, they are unable to repay their loans.

But many weavers in Uttar Pradesh are individuals.

Management

They were not organized into cooperatives, so they were not in the interest area.
