Subsequently, the commodities on the list will be eliminated by the end of 2012, and Pakistan will be granted the most favored nation treatment in India.

At present, Pakistan can only import 1933 kinds of India commodities, which are on the affirmative list.

After approving the negative list, from February 2012, Pakistan will pave the way for the free export of more than 7000 commodities in India to Pakistan.

India has granted Pakistan the most favoured nation status in 1996.

According to the WTO rules, Pakistan must give India the most favoured nation status as other countries.

That is to say, Pakistan must allow all India products to enter Pakistan.

In addition to establishing a new timetable, the two countries also agreed to further preferential trade arrangements to extend tariff concessions for commercial interests in accordance with the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA) procedure.
