Bangladesh Clothing Industry Subsidies

According to statistics from the Central Bank of Bangladesh, the total 16 export industries in Bangladesh totaled 18 billion 400 million Dhaka (US $1 to 74 Dhaka coin) in the 2010 to 2011 fiscal year.

The amount of subsidy for each project is as follows:


Allowance for clothing industry: 8 billion 700 million 7 thousand Wanda card


Allowance for frozen food: 3 billion 7 thousand Wanda card


Allowance for leather and leather products: 1 billion 600 million 9 thousand Wanda card


Allowance for agricultural products: 400 million 5 thousand Wanda card


Allowance for agricultural processing products: 700 million 3 thousand and 100 Wanda card


Hogla and Khor products subsidy amount: 100 million 3 thousand and 800 Wanda card


Poultry, bicycle manufacturing and light industries are non subsidized export projects.


The country will be held from 2011 to 2012.

Budget

19 billion Dhaka has been allocated to 15 export industries and 3 billion has been subsidized to export jute and jute products.


The government has recently released 11 billion of its projects to various projects as a subsidy for the first 6 months of this financial year.


The subsidy amounts to 5% to 20%.

The subsidies for each project are as follows:


New products and new markets (in addition to the United States, Canada and the European Union) 2%


Textile industry 5%


Small and medium-sized garment factory 5%


Potato export industry 20%


Agricultural products and agricultural products 20%


Bicycle manufacturing 15%


Poultry industry 15%


Hogla, Akher Chobra and Khor products 15% to 20%


Minor engineering 10%


Liquid glucose 20% manufactured in Iswardi processing area


Muslim meat industry 20%


Leather manufacturing 15%


Frozen food and marine industry 10%


Shipbuilding industry 5%


Finishing leather industry 4%


Plastic bottle manufacturing 10%


Jute industry 10%


Abdus Salam Murshedy, chairman of Bangladesh Exporters Association, said: "if the government expects the export industry to maintain its current growth rate, the government will have to increase the subsidy amount again."
