European Textile Consumer Apparel Industry Year

The president of European Apparel and Textile Confederation (Euratex) said that

The future relationship with retailing depends on the community recognition of consumer demand.


Euratex President Alberto Paccanelli revealed at the annual meeting held in early June that the relationship between buyers and suppliers is based on mutual understanding of increasingly subtle and intangible consumer needs and how to provide services.

It will be better than 2008 and 2009.


Paccanelli President explained that the European textile and garment industry positively reflects the improved economic environment, making the turnover amount to 172 billion euros (249 billion US dollars), up 4.2% from last year, but it has not yet recovered to the level before the financial turmoil.


Euratex said that the European market now has more than 127000 textile and garment enterprises, employing 1 million 900 thousand people.
