Argentina Has Become A New Textile Market

Last year, Pakistan's exports to Argentina rose to $41 million, an increase of US $3 million over the previous year.

This potential can be exploited through regional and bilateral agreements and initiative development, Shu Han said.

Shu Han recently visited Tariq Puri, chief executive of the Pakistan Trade Development Council, to discuss issues related to promoting trade with South America, especially Argentina.

Shu Han emphasized the importance of other small markets in South America, including Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay.

Pakistan decided to hold an exhibition in Argentina next year to introduce a series of locally made products, especially textiles.

The Pakistan Trade Development Council will send a high-level trade delegation to Argentina to participate in the exhibition so that they can meet their year-on-year entry into the Argentina market.

The delegation will include textile manufacturers and exporters.

Last year, Pakistan's main exports to Argentina were man-made silk, cotton, synthetic textiles, football, surgery and medical products.
