According to the the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region government's recently issued "Guangxi silkworm cocoon silk industry circular economy (Yizhou) demonstration base construction plan", Guangxi will build a demonstration base for Yizhou's circular economy, change its resource advantages into industrial advantages and economic advantages, establish a batch of scientific mulberry and silkworm demonstration villages and demonstration towns in Yizhou, cultivate and develop a number of sericultural farmers professional cooperation organizations, support a group of typical Sericultural Resources Recycling Development and utilization models, introduce and expand a number of cocoon and silk intensive processing enterprises, and build Yizhou into a large scale, standardization and industrialization demonstration base of large scale counties (cities) with a certain influence in Guangxi and even the whole country.

Guangxi's sericulture and cocoon and silk industry will be developed in depth, and Guangxi will be built as the largest cocoon silk processing, trade and modern cocoon silk cultural exchange center in the West.

On the specific development goals, by 2015, Yizhou mulberry garden will grow to 300 thousand mu, with annual output of fresh cocoons reaching 54 thousand tons; breeding and development of 12-15 cocoon and silk processing enterprises, extending the industrial chain to silk processing, etc., producing 3800 tons of silk, 10 million meters of green silk and 200 thousand beds of silk, and the total output value of cocoon production, cocoon silk processing and comprehensive utilization of resources has exceeded 4 billion yuan.

Huang Pingquan, mayor of Yizhou, told reporters that Yizhou has a long history of planting silkworms and silkworms. As early as the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Yizhou farmers had planted mulberry and silkworms.

In recent years, in time to grasp the opportunity of "moving east sang West" in time, the Yizhou government has cultivated the silkworm industry as the first industry.

By the end of 2009, the area of mulberry garden in Yizhou was stable at 255 thousand mu and 119 thousand households in silkworm farms. The total output of silkworm rearing in the whole city was 1 million 100 thousand, the output of fresh cocoon was 40 thousand tons, the output value was 920 million yuan, and the output of fresh cocoons accounted for 25% and 7% of the total output of Guangxi and the whole country respectively. It became the first largest silkworm production base in the country (city) and the first largest production base of white silk production in Guangxi (city).

In addition to Jiangsu's Hengyuan group, a domestic silk giant, Yizhou also introduced Jiali silk.

More than 10 cocoons, such as Mayuan cocoon silk, Jiaxing silk industry and so on.

Huang Pingquan stressed that in order to successfully build Yizhou into the new silk city of China, the municipal government will strengthen support for the cultivation of mulberry silkworms, with a total subsidy of 50 yuan per mu for over 500 mu of mulberry fields, and a subsidy of 100 yuan per mu for mulberry farmers, and a grant of 1000 yuan a year to the farmers.

At the same time, we should speed up the construction of cocoon and silk special industrial park as the breakthrough point, highlight the intensive processing of cocoon and silk, increase investment and attract more investment, focus on cultivating and developing cocoon and silk processing enterprises, expand the development space of silkworm circular economy, realize the appreciation in situ from raw materials to products, and give preferential policies, such as simplifying procedures, reducing fees, giving priority to examination and approval, and so on in the construction of silkworm houses, silkworm barns and reeling enterprises.

It is foreseeable that with the continuous advance of "moving east and west", Guangxi's cocoon and silk industry will soon be upgraded and Yizhou, with unlimited potential, will become China's new silk city.
