World Expo

The Serbia Pavilion with the theme of "City Code" is transformed from the traditional architecture of the country, and its appearance design reflects the characteristics of weaving technology. The exhibition in the pavilion takes "time" as the main line, connecting the past, present and future of the city through many interesting exhibits, triggering tourists' imagination of a better city life, and providing them with the idea of "how to better use time".

Appearance design inspired by blankets

The appearance design of the Serbia Pavilion is inspired by the traditional Serbian Pilot blanket. This kind of blanket is woven from superior pure wool. It is famous for its bright colors and exquisite design. It is a fine product of Serbian traditional handicrafts. Serbia Pavilion decorates the appearance through the pattern of the Pilot blanket, and ingeniously combines the ancient weaving pattern with the modern architectural style.

There are 5 crystal clear components at the entrance of Serbia Pavilion, which are similar to the components used in the exterior decoration of the exhibition hall. The silk thread from the module can be used for visitors to experience the traditional Kolaricu Panicu interactive game, which can tie different silk threads into different shapes. According to the customs of the Balkan Slavs, this game symbolizes the operation of the sun and the interpretation of astronomical phenomena.

Interpreting the concept of "today is tomorrow"

The most eye-catching display in the Serbia Pavilion is the repeated interpretation of "Serbia understands time". When I first entered the Serbia Pavilion, the striking wall said that the most accurate calendar ever created by Serbian scientist Milutin Milankovic was only 2 seconds slower than the actual time of the year of return. The current universal calendar is 26.75 seconds slower every year, which means that since the beginning of human civilization, the Gregorian calendar has "lost a day". Therefore, the Serbs put forward the concept of "today is tomorrow" and stressed that we should cherish time.

Walking in the cloister, 365 moments of Serbian daily life are displayed on the wall beside, recording the epitome of various Serbian city symbols, including the daily life of ordinary people in the morning and evening, as well as the figures of Djokovic, Jankovic and other stars. Visitors from different cultural backgrounds can feel the information conveyed by these moments.

In the center of the pavilion, a "time factory" is running all the time. This special device consists of gears, belts, etc. It alerts visitors to the changes of time through sound and other ways.

Free calendar card is welcomed by tourists

The wall next to the exit of the Serbia Pavilion is also a mystery. There are 180 grids on this wall. Each grid has a set of 184 day time commemorative cards from May 1 to October 31. Tourists can pick up the calendar of the day or their favorite date for free according to their interest. The venue staff told reporters that these calendars were specially made for the World Expo. In addition to the date of the day, the front of the calendar also has words explaining the concept of "time is now+1 day" emphasized by the Serbian pavilion. On the back of the calendar are the proverbs of the Serbian people about cherishing time, such as "getting up early every day makes success faster" and "time is the best teacher".

This commemorative gift was warmly welcomed by tourists. According to the staff, the 180 sets of 33120 calendars are now running out, and they are urgently printing them.
