I learned from the anti-dumping Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and industry of India today that the Bureau launched an anti-dumping investigation on the sewing machine needle (Sewing Machine Needles) originating in China in May 19th.

This is the fifth anti-dumping investigation launched by India this year.

The applicant is India Altek Beissel Needles limited, and the India customs code is 845230.

The dumping investigation period is from January 2009 to December 2009, and the damage investigation period is from April 2006 to December 2009.

According to the Ministry of printing and industry statistics, between April 2009 and December 2009, the value of India's self import related products was about US $5 million 340 thousand.

The investigators said that stakeholders could submit relevant information within 40 days from June 7th.

According to the applicant, as China is a non market economy country, the anti-dumping Bureau tends to use structural prices (based on India data) to calculate the normal value of Chinese products.
