Vietnam'S Exports To The EU Are Expected To Reach US $12 Billion 100 Million This Year.

According to Vietnam investment weekly 12 reported that in 2008, Vietnam's exports to the EU are expected to reach US $12 billion 100 million, an increase of about 28.7% over last year.



The report said that the footwear industry will continue to maintain its leading position in the EU's exports this year in all industries, and is expected to reach $2 billion 700 million in the year.

In 2007, Vietnam's footwear exports to the EU amounted to US $2 billion 100 million and accounted for 7.2% of the EU footwear market.



Next to clothing textiles, exports to the EU are expected to reach nearly $1 billion 700 million this year, an increase of 20% over last year.

Vietnam's seafood exports to the EU are expected to grow by 25% this year, to 1 billion 200 million US dollars.

Exports of wood products to the EU will also increase by 30% over the same period last year, reaching US $780 million.



Figures show that coffee exports to the EU may decline slightly due to the decline in domestic coffee production in Vietnam.
