Processor Price War Detonated Completely!!

According to Taiwan media, in order to counter Intel's big price cut in July 23rd, AMD will reduce the price of the AM2 series and other products sold in May 23rd in mid June and July 24th respectively, with a drop of 5.

The motherboard manufacturers said that Intel was under pressure from the price war of Intel. AMD recently met with several motherboard factories to meet and negotiate with each other, and promised to fight with Intel and reduce the price of the whole line. The rate will be lowered by 20-30% in advance of the 4 Athlon 64 single core processors in the middle of July 24th. In July 24th, the price of Athlon 64X2 dual core processors will be substantially reduced, about 25% to 50%, and the low end single core processor Sempron will be adjusted 10-15%.

 

Motherboard manufacturers pointed out that because the K8L architecture will not show up in 2007, the AM2 series that did not debut will not be able to compete with Intel's Conroe debut. It can only choose to compete with Pentium D in the same field. Intel has resorted to a price reduction strategy to break away from the high efficiency Conroe and low price Pentium D attack.

In the face of Intel's dense layout, coupled with insufficient AMD capacity and the loss of price advantage, it is already AMD's move to take the usual price war.

 

After the announcement of the July big price cuts, Intel is expected to boost the market's popularity. The proportion of the platform for the two processor giants has begun to loosen, but it is expected that AMD can take further actions to avoid the market being monopolized by Intel again. After AMD's follow up on the price tag, though it can not completely resist Intel's price offensive, it will at least keep AMD from overburdening in 2006.
